For long-term contracts (180 days or longer), unarmed security guards typically run $25 to $38 per hour and armed guards run $32 to $48 per hour. These are contracted rates that reflect the commitment of a longer engagement. Short-term assignments, event coverage, emergency deployments, and contracts under 180 days are priced higher because of the additional coordination, travel, and staffing flexibility required.
